They haven't really cared about your feelings, so you don't have to feel sorry about theirs. They've chosen to follow a 19th century religio-publishing corporation with a history full of false prophecies and destroyed lives.

That is so that they can attack what you say and convince you that you've got demunz in yer pantz. Mostly, they want you to listen and obey.

They love the way you used to be a mindless JW drone, and that's what they want you to come back to.

They're trying to turn on the post-JW self-destruct mechanism. You are supposed to feel like you've turned your back on everyone that ever loved you, and that your life now has no purpose and no future. But you know better. JWs only are allowed to have conditional love, dictated by the decisions of the BoE. And now you can have purpose and a future, now that you are no longer shackled to WT.

Haven't they ever seen any JW kids walk away from the KH before? What part of "I don't wish to be associated with JWs anymore" don't they understand?

i'm a born in, baptized as a young teenager, whole family is jw.

i just recently woke up after the new understanding of the fds was announced and it seemed to me to smack of power-grabbing.

i started looking at all the websites we're not supposed to, and now i know why.

My suggestion is that you don't need to rush things with painful conversations... it's not like armageddon is coming any time soon. LOL. Since your husband isn't gung-ho, it's easy enough to back off from the JW rat race and miss meetings together and skip serve-us (while still reporting time). He doesn't sound like the type that will object to pre-fading inactivities.

I'd also suggest that you evaluate your marriage. If you're happy together without the JW stuff, build on all the things and activities you have in common. If you love him, make sure he knows it, and that you wouldn't let any JW crap interfere with your relationship. That way, if push comes to shove, he'll understand that you're a real and loving part of his life, but the JWs are just a mindless, loveless cult. As much as you'd like to unload everything you've learned about the JWs to him, just start by copying his attitude, which seems to be, "meh, WT is just gonna keep changing this stuff, so why bother." As far as chinks in his JW armor, just give him time and opportunity, and he'll likely show them at some point. Feed him a little information and see how it goes. Look for points of agreement with him. Avoid arguments. Give him enough to remember, not an Internet-load of data.

If there is any subject worth being pro-active, it would be the blood issue, especially if you have children. Your WT "contract of death" should be destroyed. Although it makes sense to avoid blood transfusions whenever possible, in the event of medical emergencies when survival is on the line, blood transfusions save lives. JW teachings aren't even in agreement with the Bible... ask any Jew. The prohibition is with respect to eating the blood of dead animals, not a prohibition of saving lives.

What is the best way to celebrate ?

what is the best way for an inactive/ fader like me to celebrate the anniversary of my walking away from all things jw ?.

as my last meeting was the memorial several years ago, it always falls around this time of year.. my first instinct is,........ wait for it............. you've guessed it............... lots of beer !.

but what i was looking for was something that would send a message to jw's, especially family that are in, without them having a way to dismiss it as me being provocative or whatever.. any ideas ????

caleb sees some brightly-colored lollies.. caleb's mom tells him they're not buying candy today.. caleb puts down the lollies, sulking.. caleb thinks about stealing just one lolly, but remembers his dad's words at family study, that if he steals he won't be jehovah's friend.. caleb puts back the lolly smiling, and runs along.. .

hardly a gripping plot.

Anyone noticed a curiosity on the Memorial Invitation for 2013 ?

i can't scan the memorial invitation for 2013, but i was looking at it today and noticed something curious on the front drawing.. we have jesus as the central figure of the composition.

to his right and bottom, a large crown, in colour, of shiny happy people of diverse origins.. separated from this by the figure of jesus, is another group, a much smaller one, on the left and as if ascending to the top, and grayed.. clearly portrayed in this group is the face of ct russell and apparently william tyndale.

but then, also sarah and abraham and other personalities of the ot seem to be represented there.
